A lot on my mind

I've been quite busy dealing with some personal issues and I have had little time with the game. And the time I did have with the game just wasn't pleasing me as much as it used to. And it got me thinking. Why do I still play this game? I think I have past the 3 year mark of playing this game and I admit I feel the repetition from time to time. Like...oh, I did this already. Or, been there, done that kind of feeling. I mean, 3 years of FFXI is almost $400! Thats a lot of *clink clink*. But yeah...I've kind of hit a slump in real life so I just wasn't feeling the mood. But that is the reason why I questioned playing FFXI.

As I layed there, contemplating, I started remember all the funny adventures. Like when I trained a lot of Boyahda Tree and nearly killed the skill up group. Or the time where I asked for help for one of my thief AFs and my whooooole LS showed up just to kick a gobby NMs butt (which like 2 of us could of killed). Or when I camped Leaping Lizzy with my first thief mentor Tendrak. He stuck with me the whole time and finally got me a shiny pair of boots just like his!Or when I first started the game and a friendly tarutaru gave me a fishing rod, bait, and a linkshell and welcomed me to the world of Vana'Diel.

And that was just the start of it! My memories started flooding back to me. All the amazing BCNM fights that had me on my seat until we amazingly pulled off the win. All the fights against NMs, hoping that the darn mob would finally drop the item that someone needed. All those fun times just doing something silly with me friends.

I remember one time I went exploring with my good friend Kihre. We were exploring Attohwa Chasm and we ran into a few antlions that popped out of the ground and aggro'ed. I finally noticed that you could see a lil piece of them when they were hiding. Me and Kihre had just fended off a mob and we were a lil low on HP. I saw a Antlion hiding so I told Kihre to lead the way. It popped out and pretty much tore into the two of us. I barely lived with my two hour but Kihre died. Heeee was sooo mad! XD. But the most amazing part was when I msg'ed a random whm in Jeuno that I didn't even know and asked for a raise. And the whm actually came out and raised! Then, to top that off, me and Kihre, through trial and error, finally made it to the top of the mountain thingy. Right when we got up there, the sun was actually rising. I've seen the sun rise in the game, but that one sun rise was literally breathtaking. A definite sit back in your chair and say wow moment. It was probrably one of the greatest experiences ever. We didn't do it for an item. We didn't do it to unlock anything. We didn't get anything out of it. We just had fun.

Thats when it hit me! Duh! I play to have fun! Why else would I keep coming back to play. So after thinking of all the great times I had, I'm back out of my slump! So watch out world, here comes Miry!

A busy Weekend

Another busy day! I have a lot of stuff going on right now so I probrably won't be on much this week. Anyways, for the lack of time I'm just gonna let the pictures do most of the talking. Again I went after my AF and this time I was more prepared. My first stop was Dark Spark. With Utsusemi he didn't even land a hit! Heck, he didnt even use Self - Destruct. So after I took him down, I was 2/5 on AF.

I then ran to Fei'Yin and attempted to fight Dabotz's Ghost. He was a pretty tough fight since he kept using AoE's. I ended up with less then 200 HP but I finally took him down. I then went and finished the rest of the quest in Castle O. After getting that AF I ran into Garliage Citadel and got me coffer there amazingly. So 4/5 AF! Yay!

Back up in sky with the best sky LS, STRIFE~! Wooo! Got to see a lot of peeps who I hadn't seen in quite some time.

Byakko was the only god tonight and we got two runs on him. Drops were meh but we were able to do the runs relatively smoothly.
I'm really sorry for having such short and boring posts lately. Especially since I keep finding out more and more people are reading this. When I get more free time I promise to up the writing and jokes in me blog. See ya later everyone~! @_@/

The Big Five-O

After hitting a few bumps with beastmaster, I finally hit 50! Wooo! *Does a lil dance* Anyhow! Once I hit 50 I immedietly set out to go do my beastmaster AF.

Here is me farming in Crawlers nest for a key. Never got a key and turns out I can get the cursed gloves with my thief tools. Which I did ^^b!

Here is me in Xarcabard. Got dropped off up here after trying to help Cyp with the big turtle problem he has. Anyhow, was gonna do dark spark but forgot to talk to the stupid box in Port Jeuno. I then went to Fei'Yin to try to solo a ghost for another piece of AF. Turns out I can't solo it. It casted too many aga spells and tore through me shadows.

After getting the key in Garliage Citadel, I came back to look for a coffer. After immedietly seeing the box above, I ran at it and tried to open it. After trying to open it like 4 times, I finally realized it was just a silly treasure chest. Phooey!

Here is me raising some Japanese party down in the basement of Garliage Citadel. I totally forgot I could raise at 50 bst and at first thought they were crazy when asking for a raise. Oops ^^;.

Anyhow, I also got my Beadeaux coffer key and actually found the coffer! So as of now I am 1/5. Hopefully I'll have some better luck later this week.

Yay for more japanese! Anyhow, I just realized I can't really teach anyone the proper stroke order but I found out where you can! Wikipedia! . So I would highly looking up the characters there to see how to properly write them. Now for the next five. The next five characters are the K. They sound like the first five characters but with a K in front of them.
か - Ka
き - Ki
く - Ku
け - Ke
こ - Ko

I can't think of their proper sounds at the moment but I might edit them in later.

Edit: Bleaerg! I cant shrink Ko! I swear this blog messes up sometimes! @_@

Cockatrices, they hate Leeches

How is it going everyone? I hope you all had a wonderful day today! My adventures on Beastmaster are continuing quite smoothly. I was able to level to 48 today in Gustav Tunnel without ever running into the Goblin NM that spawned there. Which according to a tarutaru named Dewberry, is good since it tore him to shreds and then stomped on his remains. I hope I don't run into a NM on accident on beastmaster @_@;;;. Anyhow, the EXP got pretty bad once I hit 48 so I decided to find another camp. Although I was told Western Altepa Desert was a good camp, my past experiences with that camp left a bad taste in my mouth so I decided to go somewhere else. And so my adventures led me to Labyrinth of Onzozo!

Labyrinth of Onzozo. It it like Maze of Shakhrami except more deadly. Almost everything aggros. There are air elementals that shred my pets to pieces. Almost everything links. And I love the place! XD. Although it has a steep learning curve, the exp is pretty good. Again, the main mob that I'm leveling off of is goblins but I do fight a few Cockatrices from time to time. Also, just like Gustav Tunnel, my pet of choice is again the leech. An Even Match leech can almost always solo a Tough Goblin and the leeches also do a decent job against the cockatrices. Anyhow, I did have a little bit of trouble with the camp. I'm not used to magic aggro so I accidently aggro'ed an air elemental. But one quick zone and a cure and I was on my way again. I also got aggro'ed by a DC goblin, but I was able to fight it off while also killing a T Cockatrice. Another good thing about leeches is they actually intimidate the cockatrices. Hehehe... cockatrices are afraid of leeches. Well that about sums up me adventures for today. Until next time~!

Oh yes, I almost forgot. To help those who actually want to learn what the Japanese players are saying, I'll try to teach a little Japanese here and there. With learning any language, the most important part is the alphabet. Tonight, I'm just gonna start off with the first five since they are the most important. The first five characters are the basic vowel sounds in japanese. The reason they are important is because every consonant has some vowel sound similar to one of the first five. So lets look at what we got.

あ-A (Ah, like when you get a good message)
い-I (E, like the letter E)
う-U (U, the ew in new)
え-E (Eh, like the E in enter)
お-O (Oh, like the letter O)

If the pronounciations dont make any sense, the first five characters are also pronounced the same in spanish if that helps at all. Next time we will tackle the next five characters!

Optical Hat: Get!

I'm about to pass out so I'll let me pictures do most of the talking lol. I am still in Gustav Tunnel lvling my bst and I am yet again fighting goblins. But look at me leech! They so gosh darn aggressive. Leeches have proved to be great pets since they can take a lot of dmg and dish it out as well with their lil teeth.

Here is me popping Hakutaku. I was 8/11 to spawn him. I think I had bad luck with me lots because I accidently had to run out on sky (I'm soooo sorry >_<;). Amazingly we were able to get all 11 hats! And I only died once! Woohoo!

Here is me in me stylish new hat! Its well...its pointy...and well...er...tall. Ok its not stylish at all but the stats should hopefully help me survive a lil more when doing suicide pulls as well as help me skill up sword, marksmanship, and maybe even evasion! Imma pass out now @_@. Night!

*Slams face against keyboard* hehehe...it kind of tastes like tea....XD.

Beastmaster, AKA: The Goblinator

How is it going peeps! Amazingly I find out more and more of you guys are actually reading this! I am shocked! I'll make sure to make it as interesting as possible for you guys. (Starting with the next post, forgot to take more pics, sorry @_@)

So a lot has happened since me last post. I leveled bst to 46 in Crawlers Nest but left soon after because the EXP wasn't that good and it was a pain in the butt to fight for mobs against the Pts. I then went to Gustav Tunnel where I began to once again kick the butt out of goblins. I believe by now the goblins tell their children horror stories about a beastmaster who kicks their butt. That must be the reason why they keep dropping their bombs! Anyways, during some down time I began talking to me good 'ol friend Souel. It turns out after I left me old Sky LS lost some more members for other reasons. Now, I didn't leave the LS with any anger or resentment (at least that I know of) and after hearing about the low turn out it has been having, I knew I had to do something. At first I thought I could try to send people his way to join the LS, But then I realized all the peeps on my friends list already had a end-game shell of some kind. Then I thought, "Hey! I could join and try to help em out a bit." So I asked Mr. Souel if he could use a Thf. Our lil chat went like this:

Souel: Is she sexy, eccentric, and mithran?
Miry: The last two yeah. Im not sure about the first, she smells from hanging out with all her pets.

And what do you know, Im gonna try to help out and get the LS back to its tip top shape. So to all you Strife members, "I'm coming back, and we are gonna kick some booty!" O_Ob

Dynamis, You Still Die There

How is it going peeps? I finally went back into dynamis. A place where I vowed about a year and a half ago to never go back. Much of it was the same that I remembered. There is a lot of death. Wipes are almost gaurentee'ed, and as a thief you have to do quite a few sacrifice pulls. I hate being the puller there as well. Whenever I do a bad pull and someone dies, I know its my fault. Amazingly, the group only wiped twice with me pulling and everyone actually seemed to be having fun. o_O I'm still not quite sure if I wanna stick around in this ls because of all the death (I died 6 times but only lost 4k EXP) but the group appears to be a very mature and happy bunch.

I honestly remember people going crazy in Dynamis when we would wiped and they would begin blaming anyone for the EXP lost. But almost everyone at today's run just laughed off their death, got back up, and kept on going. It was wierd! We only got one AF2 piece and a relic gun to drop yet everyone was happy on coming out. We didn't even get the giant Tombstone to pop before we ran out of time but no one seemed to mind at all. "Good try everyone." "Not bad for some of your first runs." "Yay for the one AF2 piece!" I was kind of shocked. Where was all the drama? Where was that one guy who exaggerates the amount of deaths they had and complain of the EXP loss? Why didn't anyone yell at me for my awful pulls? (One of the leaders actually "MT'ed" saying I was doing a good job).

I'm not sure if the LS rubbed onto me but I just couldn't be in a bad mood. I died 6 times in about 2 hours worth of fighting and got nothing out of it. Yet...I was not mad. I was mad when I screwed up pulling or took a wipe. But my anger almost immedietly dissapeared knowing my death was my fault. It was almost a "Oh shoot, better luck next time" mentality. Have I matured? Have I gone insane? Or is it the mellow attitude of this linkshell just rubbing on me? I honestly don't know but I plan on seeing what happens when we go to Dynamis-Jeuno next.

A Call to Adventure?

I only meant to make a quick pit stop in Whitegate again when again I heard another shout which perked my ears. A tarutaru was shouting for his dynamis linkshell and was asking for anyone interested in it. Now, I am not a big fan of dynamis. As a thief, it is a pain in the butt to find a EXP party and almost all dynamis runs end up with me losing some exp. I think I even told a friend once that the day I do dynamis again will be the day I quit FFXI*. But, Pangogo, the tarutaru doing the shouts also shouted out saying all AF2 were free lots. Woah I thought. Free lots? There is going to be no point system for this linkshell? I thought he accidently did a miss-type. As I got to talking to him, he started telling me his idea behind his shell.

The sandglasses were to be paid by him and his nine friends whom were sack holders. The ls leaders would collect the money so they would break even and everything else was free lot. The AF2 could only be lotted on if you could wear it. Now, I know of many end game linkshells but I never heard of one without some kind of point or tally system. I mean, if you had nothing to gain out of going, what was the use right? Amazingly, Pangogo said him and his friends just wanted a chance to get some nice equip while having fun with other respectful players. Wowy I thought! I know I'm not the most behaved mithra but the linkshell actually got me interested in dynamis. So tomorrow is their first run and I plan on being there. It should be interesting to see what kind of people show up. Hopefully I won't die a lot tomorrow. But regardless of what happens tomorrow, I'm sure its gonna be an adventure!

*Oh yeah, and I'm not quitting FFXI. @_@;

Don't Mess with the Red Mage

*Huff*. Boy, what a day. Today might be a little more of a rant then a story peeps @_@;.
Anyways, I was able to struggle my way to 45 in the Sanctuary of Zi'tah. The goblins kept popping up as Decent challange and the exp just wasn't that great. At least I get to wear my Brigandine Armor now. I always liked snazzy black and orange armor. Nothing else like it in the game. XD

Anyhow, time to get to my rant part. After getting Bst to 45, I randomly had an urge to level Red Mage. Quite frankly, I admit my red mage skills are a lil rusty. Besides the O-hat run I had a few weeks ago, I hadn't touch the Red Mage for quite a while. But, I wanted to level Red mage and so I began to seek. Of course as RDM I got 2 invites in less then a minute. Sheesh, do people sure love the job. Anyways, the party was actually pretty good. Although I lost track of time, I got about 20k EXP. Finally, as the quote goes, S*** hit the fan.

First I gotta explain how I play Red Mage. Pretty much, I focus on the HP/MP table in the bottom right corner. I usually create some kind of order to do refresh and haste. Of course I throw debuffs and heals when they are needed, but pretty much most of my mana goes to refresh and haste. Also, my computer responds a lil slower when fights are going on my screen so I usually face the camera towards me with my back against the wall. Anyways, as I was 1/2 through my rebuff order, I noticed that peoples' HP was going down fast. I didn't think of looking at what was doing the damage; my instant reaction was to start curing. However, the dmg being done was more then I could cure and multiple people started getting low. I decided to throw out a Curaga II and poof, one of the mnks ate dirt. I finally turned my camera around and noticed that we had a link. Now this pt also had a brd. For the past 20k exp, we had links before and the brd took care of it. Heck, I swear the brd even took care of 2 links at the same time. Anyhow, I had to convert but I was able to keep the rest of the party alive for the rest of the fight.

Anyways, thats not what got me angry. What got me angry was that the party leader blamed me for the death. Now I realize I probrably shouldn't have casted Curaga II. Heck I probrably should of used my two hour. The truth is though, something in me just cracked and I got pissed! The party's tank was a Palidin. I didn't understand why he didn't use his two hour to get one of the crawlers off the mnk. The brd has a single sleep but I am guessing that it failed. What I don't understand is why I wasn't told to sleep the crawler. In fact, I was blamed for not sleeping the crawler with the leader saying it was my responsibility as Red Mage to do it. My responsibility?! What the FLIPPING FISH!? Perhaps he didn't notice I was rebuffing and curing and running out of mana. Perphaps I thought the party could handle a link or would of at least told me to sleep it. Anyhow, I got angry. Heck, I didn't just get angry, I got super pissed! Right off the bat I told the leader it wasn't just my fault. Then he persisted, and blamed my skills as Red Mage. Woah...I just froze. This mother effer did not just say that. He just blamed my skills!? I know I am not the best player ever but the hell if it was my skills that killed the mnk. Anyways, after a short argument of the leader trying to cool me down and me flipping out, I left the party. Even after I left, the leader tried talking to me. At first I wasn't responding because I wanted to just end the darn arguement. Then the darn guy asked if I b-listed him immaturely. BAH! I felt another nerve burst and immedietly tore back into him. I had to give tha..thaa..that brat the last word but I just wanted to end the damn arguement. Anyhows, I almost ended my night in a bad mood but I ran into Cyprias. Running into old friends always lightens up the mood and just talking to him just a lil helped me out. So thanks a lot Cyp, you calmed me down a bit @_@.

Woo, that felt good to get it off my chest. Thanks for listening peeps.

Its, The Kraken!

What a day! After coming back in to Whitegate to restock on food and equipment for my Beastmaster, I saw a shout for a BCNM 60. It was quite some time since I have done a BCNM so I decided to give it a shot. The leader Dominik told me that we would attempt to do the Kraken Club BCNM. My inner Thief instantly thought about all the stuff I could buy if I got a club. As Dominik and Janosh went over the strategy, I realized that they were german. Amazingly, their english was almost perfect and I had no trouble understanding them at all. Except when they talked with each other and I was then lost.

Our strategy was pretty simple. I would gravity the Sea Monk NM while the two of them just shot at it from afar as Ranger. Sure enough, our first fight went pretty well with just a little trouble at the end. Although I asked if the thing casted anything, I forgot to ask if it had any AoE moves. It turned out that it loves to spam Maelstorm (not sure on spelling) at the end which is a pretty nasty water AoE. Luckly the NM was almost dead when it started to spam so one of the Rangers just Eagle Eyed Shot'ed it. Sadly, he didn't get a club.

The other Ranger went and it was almost the same except for one of my gravity spells didn't stick. Luckly one of the Ranger's was very quick and just shadowbind'ed it. That NM went down fast as well and again the treasure involved no club.

Finally my turn came up. After two wins, everyone knew exactly what to do and we just worked like clockwork. We actually killed the NM so fast that the refresh I casted in the beginning lasted until the end of the fight! It was amazing. We also beat the record by two minutes so Dominik got his name on the records, yay! Sadly, I also didn't get the club in my chest but I got a decent amount of junk. I believe once everything sells I should come out with 60k or so. So although I got about 1k gil for every beastman seal, I'm actually quite happy. Especially since my first three KS30 runs net'ed me about 50k all together. (Just no luck @_@;) Both of the rangers said once we got enough beastman seals we should try again and I told them I would definitely be there.
So with a stroke of luck, I got to meet two very nice German Rangers and got a few shinies out of it. What an adventure! ^^

(Sorry for the bad picture, I ran to open my chest so we could get the record and didnt zoom.)

Goblins, Their bombs go Boom

Howdy everyone! Although I said I would look for another camp, I was lazy and just went back to Zi'tah. The exp is decent and the camp site is relatively safe. Besides all the goblins and the bats that appear at night that is. Anyhow, Goblins have been one of the main mobs I have been leveling on for quite a while. I leveled on em to get up to 10. I leveled on them again to get to 20 in Buburimu Peninsula. Then I leveled on them again in Yuhtunga Jungle, Yhoatar Jungle, another part of Yuhtunga Jungle, and finally here in Zi'tah. And at every single camp, they blew themselves up! I honestly want to know how the heck goblins can level up so high when at least 1/2 of them drop their bombs. Perhaps they are afraid of my pets? Or maybe my amazing good looks just make them forget they lit a bomb. Regardless of the reason, I gotta thank those goblins. Cause no fight is easier when your opponent kills themselves. XD
